When Swedish design label Dagmar was launched in the Spring of 2005, it received wide attention by the Swedish media. Dagmar was awarded the prize "Rookie of the Year" for the Spring 05 collection, and in September 05 it was awarded the PUB prize (for Sweden's famed department store owner Paul U. Bergstrom). In February 2006 Dagmar was also awarded "Best New Designer of the Year" by Swedish Elle Magazine.

The Swedish label is created and run by three sisters - Kristina Tjäder, Karin Söderlind and Sofia Malm. Dagmar was the name of the sister's later grandmother - the muse and big inspiration source for their designs.
