Pernilla Nylander, founder of “Nylander Original,” grew up in small-town Sweden and was inspired early-on by her seamstress grandmother and her designer aunt.

She started making her own clothes as a teen and loved to create unique jeans with embellishments and custom painted designs.

After studying at the prestigious Dance Academy in Stockholm, Pernilla toured the world as a professional dancer, including two years in the Las Vegas show Splash II. Eventually ending up in Los Angeles, she has performed in numerous music videos, films and TV shows.

While still living a dancer’s life, Pernilla started designing other artists’ costumes. Intimately familiar with what looks and feels good while performing on stage, her designs soon become essential to other cast members. She carried this experience over to custom design for actors and musicians and eventually became the preferred tailor to many famous names in the Hollywood scene.

“I know what women like to wear because I am a woman and I like to feel comfortable, and at the same time sexy and beautiful. —That’s the kind of woman I like to design for.”

Her latest adventure is the launch of her new handbag line. The "Nylander" line features embroidered handbags for all occasions, made in four different styles and patterns in an array of colors.
