Silke & Suus was established in 2001 by the designer Susanne Søllund who was educated at the Accademia Moda & Design in Florence in Italy. The starting point of the company was a small clothing shop on the island of Bornholm in Denmark.

The idea was and still is, to design and produce children clothes for children and parents who desire an individual look and designs with a little attitude. “Because you can be more imaginative and make your fantasy into clothing”, Susanne explains about her attraction for designing childrens clothing rather than adult clothing. “The clothes have to be designed on the children's terms. It has to be both fun and practical.

Therefore the actual fit, comfort and choice of materials are just as important as the unique craft”. Silke, the 5 year old daughter of the designer is another huge inspiration and a tough critic!
